Are you someone with a “BAD BACK”, or an “INJURED KNEE(s), or things like arthritis, degenerative disk disease, pinched nerves, or even spinal injuries?
Well, I am, and I can tell you that after having both of my knees severely injured in an fluke accident, I needed A LOT of help getting in and out of my truck. My knees just would not give me the balance, the strength, or the step-up ability to get myself into my truck. It was actually even worse when getting out of my vehicle, because I had to step down quite a ways to the ground, which caused a tremendous amount of pain and pressure on my knee joints when landing on the pavement. At the same time; I was basically putting all of my weight on the door to assist with the long step down to the ground.
By doing so, I ended up damaging the motor that controlled the mirrors and windows, and the locks as well. The door just could not take the added weight over and over again each day. I also damage the inside panel of the door, because of all of the pressure from the added weight of my body. So this technique ended up costing me a lot of money in the beginning, but it ceased after I wasn’t so cheap and stubborn, and I purchased my Side iBoards. I did not realize how far the step-up into the truck was from the ground! Bottom line; I needed help, or I was going to take the chance of adding to the injuries that I already had/have.
I started looking for a set of STEP-UP Boards to assist me with getting in and out of my truck, which was my main vehicle of use at the time. The Step-Up Bars of the APS IB-D4179A iBoard are 4 inches wide, and are constructed by using one huge solid bar, and it was also designed to give the driver and/or the passenger an extra wide step area for a safer footing position, while stepping up into the vehicle.
